Master Grower – CLOSED

This exciting and varied role is to oversee all aspects of cannabis cultivation operations, including plant care, breeding programme, nutrient management, pest and disease control, harvesting, budgeting and employees. The role will also be responsible for ensuring that the cultivation facility operates in compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including GMP and GACP.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of cannabis batch cultivation.
  • Lead the pheno-hunting breeding and mother programme.
  • Lead the cloning programme to ensure ready supply of production clones withconsistent genetics.
  • Work with the Head of Engineering to define and monitor plant nutrient levels, irrigationand light schedules.
  • Lead the cultivation team including recruitment, day to day line management, performance management and personal development.
  • Ensure the cultivation team is fully trained on procedures, processes and controls and adheres to SOPs and safety procedures.
  • Review, refine and implement cultivation standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure all stock is accounted for and that cultivation tracking and record-keeping in the inventory system adheres to SOPs.
  • Implement, oversee and enforce the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program across the company.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and GACP accreditation requirements across all cultivation processes.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including those related to safety, health, and the environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organised cultivation facility to ensure the highest level of product quality and safety.
  • Work with the Head of Production to schedule and phase batch production to ensure that all production targets are met, optimising resources and facilities to maximise quality and yield cost effectively.
  • Work with the Head of Production and Quality Systems Manager to investigate and resolve quality issues, including complaints and deviations.
  • Work closely with the Quality department to ensure that all products meet specification and have been produced in accordance with GMP and GACP.
  • Keep abreast of the latest cannabis cultivation techniques, genetics and technologies.
  • Work with the Management Team to design and implement expansion of Caprica’s cultivation and production facilities.

Experience and skills required:

Essential:

  • Proven track record of success in cultivating and breeding high-quality Cannabis.
  • Experience of leading commercial cannabis operations under GACP and EU-GMP.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for Cannabis cultivation.
  • Experience of leading successful cultivation teams.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet production targets.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays if required.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Competent computer and Microsoft skills.
  • References on request.

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of our business all personnel must pass an enhanced DBS check before joining the company and this is updated annually.
Work Environment
We produce High THC medicinal grade cannabis in bespoke extreme control growing and processing environments, inside our facility. 
Uniforms
You will be given special PPE to wear when working inside our cleanrooms.

Work life balance
We offer full time permanent roles. Our normal working week is Monday to Friday. The team also work one half day in every four at the weekend and in return you get a half day off every week, Monday to Friday.
